Welcome to TEA Youth
The East African Youth of Philadelphia
Rooted in culture. United in purpose. Empowered for the future.
TEA Youth is a nonprofit organization led by and for the East African immigrant and refugee community in Philadelphia.
We are committed to building a strong, vibrant community where youth thrive through education, sports, volunteerism,
and cultural pride.
🌍 Our Mission
To uplift East African youth by fostering leadership, education, and community engagement — while celebrating our shared
heritage and building bridges across generations.
💪 What We Do
🎓 Education & Mentorship
We provide academic support, tutoring, and culturally grounded mentorship to help youth succeed in school and life.
Our programs promote leadership, identity, and confidence.
⚽ Sports & Recreation
Through soccer and other athletic programs, we encourage teamwork, discipline, and healthy living. Sports are a powerful
tool for connection and growth.
🤝 Volunteerism & Community Building
Our volunteers are the heartbeat of TEA Youth. From organizing events to mentoring younger members, they help create a
culture of service and solidarity.
🧠 Cultural Identity & Healing
We celebrate East African traditions while offering support for mental health, wellness, and integration. Our programs
help youth stay rooted while navigating new opportunities.
🫶 Why It Matters
